What materials do Instructors need to teach a class. Look at the classes below each lists the supplies necessary.

Step One: Become a CPR provider by taking the basic course you are interested in teaching. Suit your class to your audience, Look under class descriptions for comparisons of the different classes available or go to the sites listed below to read about the content of each class.

Step Two: Take the American Heart Association Instructor Essentials Course on line HERE
Step Three: Take the instructor class (approximately 8 -12 hours) Look online at AHA find a class to apply to attend a class
Step Four: Teach a class and have your instructor observe your teaching. (called monitoring the class)

CPR Books for the Classroom for American Heart Association classes
The Training Centers across the state are questioning the American Heart Associations ruling about who can cataloque CPR Textooks for their students. The current rule says Fire Departments, EMS, and Hospitals may keep copies for the employees to use as long as they are always available. Until the AHA ,makes a decision to include schools in this category, the Schools can use classroom copies as long as the books are available to the students before the class starts and for use during the class.
Names on Cards and Rosters.
Cards are delivered e-cards and can be printed on kept on your phone. An email address is used to receive an e-card.
Send Separate Rosters for Different type Cards
Do not mix Heartsaver and Healthcare Provider students on one roster. Send a separate Roster for each type of card.
Do not send the tests or check-off sheets.
Online Skills Check off Classes:

1. Copy of the Online Completion Certificate
2. Copy of the Check off Sheets used for the lab check offs.
